Amazon contributes to charitable organizations through the Amazon Smile program, by donating a percentage of the purchase amount spent by shoppers who've signed up for the program--which is easy. And it's Amazon's money, not the shopper's.
Amazon has a foundation that makes philanthropic donations from a percentage of sales. Here's what they say: "The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges."
While 0.5% sounds small, it adds up. So help the class raise money for reunions by doing one of the following:
- Go back to the home page and click on the Amazon link at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the Amazon Smile link at the top of this page.
- Go to smile.amazon.com. Choose the charity you want from the list; of course, we'd like you to choose Wellesley College Alumnae Class of 1966.
- If you forget and go directly to Amazon.com, type "amazon smile" in the search field and click on the prompts.
