mini_rosie_riveterWest Coast classmates meet Rosie the Riveter

The Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park offers much to explain the wartime experiences of workers at the Kaiser Ship Yards in Richmond, California. Making this a particularly special mini-reunion was the opportunity to hear the account of 96-year-old National Park Service Ranger Betty Soskin as an African-American worker there during World War II.

Pictured from left to right: Barbara Hazard (Lynn Harrison's partner), Lynn Harrison, Joanne DePhillips (with us freshman year), Marion Brenner, Jennie Gerard, Ellen Varmus Bloch, and Nancy Rudolph Taylor (with us freshman and sophomore years, visiting from La Jolla). Nancy's daughter, Susan Rudolph Van Etten, took the picture.
